2015 NHI Great Debate dates announced
NHI has announced its 2015 Great Debate programs — which, for many NHI students and alumni, is the first step on their path to leadership and awareness of Third Reality thinking.
The first program on the calendar is the Texas Great Debate — a tradition that now spans a quarter-century. The program celebrates its 25th anniversary at Austin College in Sherman on June 11-14, and features teams from across Texas in a keenly-competitive speech and debate battle.
This is one of two 4-day Great Debate programs this year — the other is also a Texas-hosted program, the Texas Ambassador Great Debate, at the University of Texas at Austin on July 23-26.
Texas will also host one of three of NHI’s 2015 six-day Great Debate programs, the Texas Star Great Debate, taking place on San Antonio’s Our Lady of the Lake University, from June 23-28.
The program’s two other six-day Great Debates are longstanding NHI traditions — the Midwest Great Debate, on July 7-12, will be at its usual Augustana College home (in Rock Island, IL, one of the Quad Cities), and the Northeast Great Debate, held this year from July 21-26, will be at Villanova University in Philadelphia.
The Great Debate programs not only allow students the opportunity to develop public speaking skills and teamwork, but they also allow students to visit outstanding universities and liberal arts colleges throughout the nation while they’re still determining their college options.
