Collegiate Leadership Network: Social Entrepreneurship for NHI alumni

The Collegiate Leadership Network (CLN) is the official undergraduate arm of the National Hispanic Institute (NHI). It is a transnational network of NHI college students (freshmen-seniors) that serves as a platform for undergraduate community involvement. In addition, the CLN is a testing ground for new ideas, thoughts and strategies to create community change while maintaining close ties with students during their undergraduate studies.

NHI congratulates the CLN for making a major leap in its development in 2014, setting up two first official campus-based organizations at Texas A&M University in College Station and Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, Texas.

During Celebración, the CLN concentrates on furthering the development of the largest undergraduate Latino organization of NHI alumni both nationally and abroad through its proposed affiliated campus communities. The annual CLN convention at Celebración is divided into three parts: the creation of a governing authority and appointment of a CLN representative to the NHI board of trustees; a forum for the exploration of social entrepreneurship as a life-long community practice; and, a skill and capacity-building lab that focuses on entrepreneurship and the psychological and emotional transitions between college and the real world. The CLN also employs NHI networks and contacts to further the personal and professional success of its members.
