Elizabethtown College partnering with NHI on 2019 Northeast CWS

The National Hispanic Institute, providing Latino leadership education programs to top-performing high school students in the United States, Mexico, and Latin American and South American countries, will partner with Elizabethtown College to present the Northeast Collegiate World Series program in 2019.

The program, scheduled for July 17 to 21, will give students throughout the hemisphere an opportunity to learn more about the college application process and be introduced to inquiry-based learning. The program is the third and final program in NHI’s series for high school students who wish to become community leaders.

“We’re delighted to partner with Elizabethtown College to co-host our Northeast Collegiate World Series program to prepare rising high school seniors for college admissions and life,” said Nicole Nieto, NHI Executive Vice President. “About 125 high-achieving NHI students from Pennsylvania, from across the U.S. and even parts of Latin America are expected to attend! We’re especially grateful to George Walter, the interim Vice President for Enrollment Management at Elizabethtown, for helping to forge this partnership.”

Elizabethtown College is located in the Harrisburg metro area, and is served by Harrisburg International Airport, with nonstop flights from a number of cities, including Philadephia, Boston, Chicago, Tampa, Orlando, and beginning in June 2019, Dallas-Fort Worth.

In addition to the Northeast CWS, two other CWS programs will be run by NHI in 2019 — the International CWS at the University of South Florida in Tampa from June 12-16, and the Texas CWS from July 10-14 at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
