NHI Named as a 2023 Beneficiary of a Director’s Gift from the Bezos Family Foundation

The National Hispanic Institute (NHI) is honored to announce that the directors of the Bezos Family Foundation awarded NHI a gift of $100,000 in 2023. The Bezos Family Foundation is a an independent, nonprofit private Foundation founded by Mike and Jackie Bezos, who along with their family serve as the Foundation’s directors. 

The Foundation partners with remarkable organizations and individuals to support young people from prenatal through young adulthood to pursue their own path for success and meaningfully contribute to society. Each year, the Bezos Family Foundation’s directors select organizations such as NHI that make a substantial positive impact on youth. Past recipients of similar grants from the foundation include many organizations that make it their missions to change the lives of youth in their respective communities and beyond. 

NHI is deeply inspired by the generous investment the Bezos Family Foundation has made in fostering leadership in NHI youth. NHI’s mission to increase the pool of highly capable, educated community leaders in the United States and beyond will be greatly helped by this donation. These youth’s leadership and personal development will have a profound effect on their lives, their family’s lives, and the world around them for generations to come.

Many distinguished leaders have roots as NHI alumni, including members of Congress, local executives, state legislators, and business and professional leaders. NHI is thrilled the Bezos Family Foundation is contributing to fostering the development of diverse leadership among our students and is eager to witness their successes as these young minds come to fruition in the near future.
